Privacy Policy
In short: if you play as a guest, you send us no data at all, because everything stays on your phone. When you play with others (multiplayer), the game sends through Unity only what shared fishing needs: an anonymous ID, your nickname and what happens on the water in the game. If you create an account, we keep only what is needed to sign you in and back up your progress in the cloud. There are no ads and no tracking, we never sell data and we never collect your location.
1. Who is responsible
The data controller is Mikołaj Bębenek, Długa 26, 32-031 Buków, Poland. Contact for anything about your data: contact@born4pikes.com.
2. Playing without an account (guest)
Your progress, catch logbook, settings and in-game photos are stored only on your phone and never reach our server. Deleting the game deletes this data. The exception is playing with others (section 4).
3. Data we keep when you have an account
When you sign in with Apple, Google or an e-mail code, we store:
- your e-mail address (with Sign in with Apple this can be Apple's private relay address) and your Apple or Google account identifier, to sign you in;
- your nickname and angler appearance;
- your game progress: level, coins, tackle, challenges, permits;
- your catches: species, length, weight, in-game water, in-game date and weather. This is game data only, never your real location;
- thumbnails and in-game photos of your catches, if you save them to the cloud;
- technical data: game version and IP address in server logs, needed to run and secure the service.
Purpose: your account, sign-in and a backup of your progress that you can restore on another phone. Legal basis: performance of a contract, meaning your use of the game (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)), and our legitimate interest in the security of the service and the fairness of future leaderboards (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)).
4. Playing with others (multiplayer)
When you choose ONLINE or WITH FRIENDS, the game connects to Unity Gaming Services (Unity Technologies: anonymous sign-in, Lobby and Relay). The following is then processed:
- a random, anonymous player ID stored on your phone, with no e-mail and no account data;
- your IP address, needed for the connection;
- your nickname, angler appearance, boat and tackle, which other players in the room can see;
- the position of your boat, angler and lure on the in-game water (never your real location), fish caught in the room, gestures and quick phrases.
Other players in the room receive this data through the Relay server, which only passes it on. The room listing (water, mode, code, host nickname, number of players) is visible to players looking for a room and disappears when the room closes. There is no chat, only quick phrases and gestures, and you can block any player. Single-player connects to nothing. Purpose: multiplayer. Legal basis: performance of a contract, meaning your use of the game (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)).
5. Photos and videos on your phone
When you save a frame or a video of a strike replay, the game asks for permission to add it to your Photos and saves it on your phone. We never read your photos and never upload them.
6. Who processes data for us
- Supabase: account and progress server, hosted in the European Union (Frankfurt). Backups and sub-processors may process data outside this region under standard contractual clauses.
- Apple and Google: sign-in (Sign in with Apple, Google Sign-In), under their own privacy policies.
- Resend: sending sign-in codes by e-mail.
- Unity Technologies (Unity Gaming Services: anonymous sign-in, Lobby, Relay): playing with others. Relay servers run in the Europe region. Data may also be processed in the USA under standard contractual clauses.
We do not sell data or share it with advertisers. The game has no ads and no tracking tools.
7. Deleting your account and data
Delete your account in the game: PROFILE → ACCOUNT → DELETE ACCOUNT. This removes all data listed in section 3, including photos in the cloud. You can also e-mail contact@born4pikes.com from the address linked to your account, and we will delete everything within 30 days. Technical logs expire on their own after a short time (up to 90 days). Nothing from multiplayer is kept after a room closes except your anonymous player ID at Unity, which we will delete on request sent to the same address.
8. Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, port and object to the processing of your data. Write to contact@born4pikes.com. You can also complain to your data protection authority (in Poland: the President of the Personal Data Protection Office, uodo.gov.pl).
9. Children
The game is not directed at children under 13. If you are under 16, create an account only with the consent of a parent or guardian. Without an account and without playing with others, the game processes no personal data.
10. Changes
When something changes (for example when leaderboards arrive), we will update this page and the date at the top, and tell you about important changes in the game.
